Congratulations to George Santos and Michelle DiRosa of Patchogue Medford High School for being named to the “Congressional Youth Leadership Council” for 2010. George was nominated by Ms. Kimberly Gardner at the High School who identified George for demonstrating leadership potential and academic achievement. George and Michelle were selected from an outstanding group of young men and women from a variety of backgrounds with a broad range of interests and goals.

The council was founded in 1985 with the members of the United STates Congress. It is the premier leadership program in the country designed for the nation's best and brightest high school scholars.

George and Michelle will travel this summer to Washington, DC. They will spend ten days at the conference where they will be challenged, motivated and inspired. They will attend special functions which will recognize him and their fellow scholars, including a presentation on the floor of the House of Representatives, a panel discussion with prominent journalists at the National Press Club and an issue briefing conducted by a current or former member of the president's administration. They will represent New York and Patchogue - Medford High School.

Congratulations George and Michelle!
