Welcome to the 2008 - 2009 Academic School Year!
| This page provides important information to
begin the school year. All students will be mailed schedules in August. Students should report to their period one classes upon arriving at school. Updated schedules will be distributed to all students in period one on the first day of classes. Students should follow the schedule received during period one. Please note that schedules will be changed only if a requested course is missing or to correct errors. Students had several months during the 2007-2008 school year to make adjustments to program requests. Copies of program requests were mailed home to parents and invitations were extended for conferences and changes at that time. If a student discovers a missing course or an error only, the student may complete a Schedule Review Form. These forms are available in first period, in the Counseling Office, and through this link. Only complete forms will be processed. Upon reviewing the form, counselors will send students with missing courses or errors a pass to resolve the issue. The student should follow the most current schedule until a pass is received. Counselors will not be available to meet with students during the first day of school. Your patience is appreciated as you wait for your appointment. Be assured that the counselors will arrange appointments as soon as possible. Frequently asked questions and answers appear below: Why didn't I receive early release or late
arrival? Though every effort is
made to accommodate such requests, academic
courses remain the priority and are scheduled first based upon
availability. Why can't I change my schedule?
Creating a master schedule of courses for over 3,000 students is a
formidable task which requires an extended period of time to create.
The schedule is designed based on the initial requests of students
and is constructed to maximize resources in the most efficient
manner possible. To maintain the integrity of the schedule and to keep
class sizes balanced wherever possible, widespread changes cannot be
accommodated. |
